During 2014 and 2015, Di-Spark Limited made investments into high volume wire EDM machining capabilities, suitable for the manufacture of products, parts, components and sub-assemblies in large quantities. Our high volume wire EDM machining cell offers the latest, automated clean-cut wire electrical discharge machining equipment.
All machining cells at Di-Spark are fully managed via our quality management team and are subject to meticulous inspection processes, running the latest inspection innovations such as large CMM, optical measurement, microscopic inspection and HD video inspection. We operate QMS to AS9100 revision C and operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with night duty staff and remote monitoring capability.
High volume wire EDM machining was further optimised during the latter part of 2015 as Di-Spark carried out a capacity utilisation and optimisation phase. All of our machining cells: 5 axis machining, large machining, mill-turn machining, rapid response machining, wire EDM machining and spark EDM machining were concentrated into dedicated facility units, now spanning over 40,000 sq ft. These lean manufacturing principles improve efficiency and enable Di-Spark to pass these benefits onto the customer, in terms of a cheaper product whilst retaining ultra high quality output.
Particular attention was paid to the electrical discharge machining cell during 2015, running spark erosion cells, wire erosion cells and high volume wire EDM machining capability from our largest facility unit, side by side. Cad/Cam facilities were revised to the shop floor, conveniently close to machining operations and inspection facilities were increased, most noteably with the addition of a large CMM which required it’s own high-ceiling operations room.
