The Di-Spark Group, founded in 1980, has evolved from a toolmaking company using wire erosion to produce press tools, and were one of the first companies in the UK to embrace EDM Wire Erosion machining and Spark Erosion machining technologies.

We are now a specialist EDM subcontractor operating globally and spanning a number of high-technology sectors, such as Aerospace, Motorsport, Defence, Medical, Satellite, Nuclear and Oil and Gas.

As an EDM subcontract company, our commitment to quality control is centrepiece to our constant strive for excellence. Being an ‘Investors in People’ accredited company affiliated with PETA, we are constantly training our staff and working with the local community to keep skill levels high and to the latest standards. Equally, we have a steady stream of new blood by way of apprenticeships.

EDM subcontractors require certification, and our certification is second to none. We are AS9100(c) and ISO 9001 certified. We are also signatories to the SC21 Supply Chain Initiative – a key industry venture for Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space, designed to accelerate global competitiveness via excellent quality control, reduced overheads, operational improvements, leaner production techniques and lower set-up times. Our four areas of expertise are as follows:

5 axis and Multi axis machining subcontractor: The Di-Spark Group

Subcontract 5 axis and multi axis machining/milling, allowing 5 sides of a prismatic part to be machined to fine tolerances accurately and with reduced set-up times.

Mill-Turn machining subcontractor: The Di-Spark Group

Subcontract mill turn machining/milling, combining 2 metal cutting technologies into a single machine, reducing both set-up and machining time.

Wire Erosion machining subcontractor: The Di-Spark Group

Subcontract wire erosion EDM machining – a continuously moving ‘electrical discharge’ wire uses thermal energy to vapourise material as a cutting edge, which is very useful for producing precision machined parts from materials which are difficult to machine.

Spark Erosion machining subcontractor: The Di-Spark Group

Subcontract spark erosion EDM machining – using a machined electrode to impart it’s form into the workpiece via the thermal energy of repetitive sparks, allowing complex geometric precision parts to be formed.
