Wire Erosion Services: Clean Cut Wire Erosion EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)

Di-Spark Ltd supply wire erosion services to companies across the globe, and there are certain engineering sectors that require the utmost in precision, quality control and traceability. These sectors affect our daily lives, routines and travel habits and we all – by the most part take them for granted. Wire Erosion EDM is a powerful machining innovation used within this arena and here at Di-Spark, we know that many of the high precision components that we manufacture end up working within mission-critical equipment. That’s why we are 100% committed to quality control, AS9100 and machining innovation. That’s why we consistently reinvest in new, state of the art machinery and quality control hardware & software, and that’s why Di-Spark operate around the clock and across the globe supplying world-class precision machining.

Wire Erosion Services: What is Wire Erosion EDM?

Submerged in de-ionised water and working above and below the machined work piece, a thin strand of metallic wire is guided through independent heads to deliver a discharge to the component, resulting in an precision machined surface. Wire erosion EDM machining allows a component to be machined to ultra fine tolerances without receiving stresses induced by a cutting force, such as milling. This is particularly useful for difficult-to-machine materials, such as titanium, inconel and hardened materials. The latest innovation with wire erosion EDM is clean cut wire erosion, which introduced improved and managed power characteristics, which further improves tolerances and final finish.
